I noticed the first bag didn't seem to heat as well and burned twice as fast even as the temperature climbed from single digits to the mid twenties, At first I feared my stove was failing when I had to burn a whole bag in less time than half of a bag of other brands lasted. And didn't produce near as much heat. I then put in a bag of another brand and had to turn my feed rate from 5 down to 2 to be warm enough. From now on it's only premium hardwood for me.
